Dance Dialogues

paul-libard-at-rambert-by-chris-nash-275.jpgDance Dialogues 2009-10 was a significant cultural event for Bristol aiming to raise the profile of African Peoples’ Dance (APD) and allow an appreciation of its enormous impact on modern dance forms.The centre piece of this three month programme of events which ran from October 9th 2009  to January 9th 2010 is  the photographic exhibition “Black Dance in Britain, 1930’s – 1990’s Moments..”This beautiful exhibition, commissioned by the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD) takes us through seven decades to explore the broad and deep impact on dance today of UK black dancers and choreographers.  The programme also included a package for schools, workshops for professionals, beginners and young people, professional and community performances and the inaugural meeting of a South West Black Dance forum.  If you would like to follow up any of these opportunities do contact us.
